Maharashtra and Jharkhand Election 2024: The excitement regarding the upcoming assembly elections in two major states of India, Maharashtra and Jharkhand, has intensified. Voting will be held in Maharashtra on 20th November and Jharkhand on 13th and 20th November. Results will be declared in both the states on 23 November. Before these elections, a Materize survey has come out, which is giving a clear indication of the direction of power and the future of alliances in these states.
Mahayuti gets lead in Maharashtra
maharashtra assembly electionsAccording to the Materize survey conducted before the elections, the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance seems to be getting a clear lead in the state. The survey has estimated that Mahayuti may get 145 to 165 seats, while the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is likely to get only 106 to 126 seats. The BJP-led alliance is expected to get 47 percent vote share, while the Congress-led alliance is likely to get 41 percent vote share. According to the survey, BJP is getting huge public support in Western Maharashtra, Vidarbha and Thane-Konkan regions, where it is likely to get 48%, 48% and 52% votes respectively.
BJP alliance will win in Jharkhand
There is also a possibility of change of power in Jharkhand assembly elections. According to the Materise survey, the BJP alliance can gain power in the state. The survey has estimated that BJP may get 45 to 50 seats, while the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) led alliance is expected to be limited to 18 to 25 seats. Jharkhand has a history of change of power every five years, and this time too the BJP-led alliance may emerge dominant. In vote share, the BJP alliance is expected to get more than 53 percent votes, while the vote share of JMM-Congress and RJD alliance is expected to be 27.9 percent.
Growing popularity of Shinde and Marandi as Chief Ministers
For the post of Chief Minister in Maharashtra Eknath Shinde Remains the most favorite face. In a survey, 40% people supported Shinde as CM, while 21% chose Uddhav Thackeray and 19% chose Devendra Fadnavis as their favorite CM face. In Jharkhand too, the popularity of Babulal Marandi for the post of Chief Minister is increasing. About 44% people of the state like him for the post of CM, while Hemant Soren has got 30% support.
Vote share and regional performance
According to vote share also, BJP is being shown in a strong position in both the states. In Maharashtra, the BJP-led alliance is getting huge support in most areas, while in Jharkhand, the BJP is expected to make gains in Kolhan and Palamu areas.
