Maharashtra Coronavirus Vaccine: Amid shortage of booster shots and rising Covid cases in Mumbai and Maharashtra, state Health Minister Tanaji Sawant said there is no need to panic as the situation is being constantly monitored. In the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak, Mumbai and Maharashtra were the most affected. In Maharashtra, on 3 April, 1,079 active cases were registered in Mumbai and 3,532 in Maharashtra. The positivity rate of six districts is more than 10 percent.
What did Health Minister Sawant say?
Maharashtra Health Minister Sawant said, “Corona cases are increasing in Maharashtra. We have around 3,500 active cases. But the patient’s recovery rate is around 98 per cent. Only 52 patients are hospitalized across the state. These patients Not on oxygen or ventilator support. We are fully prepared to deal with COVID-19. No need to panic.”
This appeal was made to the people
The minister, however, urged citizens to follow the Covid protocol as most people are expected to travel during summer vacations. Sawant said, “Schools remain closed in April-May. People plan their holidays for various destinations, many villages hold their annual fairs during this period. In such a situation, there is a possibility that the number of positive cases may increase, but we should not panic. Just follow the Covid-19 guidelines when you are out. Avoid crowded places to prevent the spread. XBB.16 is a diluted variant, so people need not fear”
