In an interview given to E-Times, Arun Govil told about becoming Lord Shiva in a film. He said, “It was almost two decades ago. The whole country knew me as Ram, but the makers thought I could be a better actor to play the role of Shiva and I did it in the film ‘Shiv Mahima’ in 1992. Worked. I played Lord Shiva in this film, the film did average business at that time. But I am happy that the filmmakers liked me for the role of Lord Shiva.”

Govil also said, “I don’t think people remember my character of Shiva because I am better known as Ram.”

Arun Govil went on a pilgrimage to Vrindavan on the occasion of Shivratri. He told that, I am going to meet Lord Krishna. The actor did not fast because of the journey, otherwise he definitely observes Shivratri fast. Together they worship Lord Shiva daily at home.”
