Samosa is also a favorite dish of many people. In Saharanpur, Mahendra Mooch’s samosas in front of the civil court are famous not only in the city but also in other districts. Whoever eats Mahendra Mooch’s samosas, comes back here again and again. People like the taste of samosas made at Mahendra Mooch’s shop.

Shopkeeper Manoj Kumar says that Mahendra Kalra started this shop in the year 1964. The samosa made at this shop which has been running for about 60 years has become a delicacy for millions of people. People from far and wide come to Mahendra Mustache’s shop to eat this samosa. 500 to 600 samosas are sold daily.

Shop operator Manoj Kumar tells that when late Mahendra Kalra started the samosa shop, he prepared the masala to be put in the samosa with his own hands. Then the masala samosas prepared by him became a delicacy for people’s tongues without even realizing it. Dry fruits are also used in late Mahendra Kalra Mooch’s samosa, which makes it more delicious. After Mahendra Mooch’s demise, his wife now prepares that masala and gives it to be put in the samosa. Earlier, the price of Mahendra Mooch’s samosa used to be ₹5 to ₹10. But, today the price of samosa is ₹30. Despite this, people like to come here from far-off places and eat Mahendra Mooch’s samosa. Even if someone has to have a party at their home, samosas are ordered here.
