The Anti Narcotics Task Force of Meerut district chased a truck on Tuesday and recovered 5.5 quintals of ganja. Four smugglers have also been arrested. The price of ganja in the international market is said to be more than five crores. The smugglers were bringing ganja from Odisha state via Madhya Pradesh to supply it in various districts of Uttar Pradesh. The ganja was hidden in a secret cabin built behind the driver’s seat in the truck. The Meerut team of Anti Narcotics Task Force got a clue about this.
A seven-member team chased the truck in a four-wheeler. The truck was caught near the Khajuraho railway line bridge on the Kanpur-Sagar highway. The team took three accused into custody. A smuggler was driving a Swift Dzire car ahead of the truck. He was also arrested.
