Main Atal Hoon Review In Hindi: In a democracy like India, the work of keeping this system alive has been going on for years. Every political party has its own history of trying and working hard to move from opposition to favor. But there have been some politicians who, whether in favor or in opposition, their personality has always attracted people. One such politician was Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the 10th Prime Minister of the country, whom people loved very much. He was a poet, a journalist, a politician, a thinker and his biopic film ‘Main Atal Hoon’ shows all these parts of his personality. Actor Pankaj Tripathi has played the role of Atal Bihari Vajpayee in this film.
Story: The story of ‘Main Atal Hoon’ starts from the childhood of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, when he was scared of reciting poetry even in a meeting of his school. He says to his father, ‘How people were staring’. Then his father says that if someone stares at him, stare harder into his eyes and say what you want. From here begins the story of Atal ji becoming an excellent speaker. His law college days, his love for Rajkumari ji, then his joining the Sangh, his entry into politics and his entire journey to reach the post of Prime Minister are shown in this story.
‘Main Atal Hoon’ is a documentary type biopic, in which only the good aspects of Atal Bihari Vajpayee have been highlighted from beginning to end. The biggest strength of the film is Atal ji’s speeches, which Pankaj Tripathi has brought on screen with full enthusiasm. Many times Pankaj is seen exactly in the style of Atal ji. Pankaj has shown the stability of Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s nature very well. However, Pankaj Tripathi’s age is slightly reflected in the young avatar of Atal ji. But in terms of acting, Pankaj Tripathi has done complete justice to this character. Dayashankar Mishra has done a great job in the role of Deendayal Upadhyay. The actors playing the roles of Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Pramod Mahajan and Advani ji in the film have also done a great job.
Pankaj Tripathi becomes Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the poster of the film.
The weak point of the film is its monotony. Along with Atal ji, this film also shows events like the formation of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and BJP. But everything is straight forward and good. At some places in the story, former Prime Minister of the country Indira Gandhi has been shown in a negative shade, but apart from that there is no mention of the politics taking place in political parties in the story. In fact, in the story, things like Atal ji’s college life before his political career of 4 decades has been shown. And because of touching so many things, there is nothing that can have a deep impact.
Director Ravi Jadhav has made many excellent films before. But they have made some mistakes in handling this biopic. The first half of the film is very slow and not interesting. But the story picks up pace in the second half. This is a decent film which shows many aspects of Atal ji. But it is still a little short of becoming a great film.
