A massive fire broke out in a saree showroom located in the densely populated Punjabi Market of Hathras city following a short circuit late in the evening of March 6. This created chaos in the market. On getting information about the incident, SDM Sadar, CO City, Kotwali Sadar Police and fire department officials reached the spot along with several fire engines. The fire brigade vehicle was busy extinguishing the fire till late night. According to the showroom owner, there has been a loss of Rs 40 to 50 lakh in the fire.
Pawan Bansal, son of Dalchand Bansal, resident of Aligarh Road, Basant View of the city, has a saree showroom by the name of Shreeji Saree Emporium in the densely populated Punjabi Market of the city. On the evening of March 6, Pawan Bansal closed the showroom and went to his home. Meanwhile, a massive fire broke out in the showroom due to a short circuit from behind and there was chaos in the area. Due to the fire, sarees, lehengas, blouses etc. worth lakhs of rupees kept in the showroom were completely burnt to ashes. Seeing the flames coming out of the showroom, the people nearby immediately informed the showroom owner, Kotwali Sadar Police and Fire Brigade.
On information, Kotwali Sadar police and fire department officials reached the spot along with several fire engines and started controlling the fire. On information, SDM Sadar Lavgeet Kaur, CO City Rampravesh Rai also reached the spot. For several hours later, firefighters continued to extinguish the fire. When no success was seen, the shutter of the shop was broken. Then the fire could be controlled with the help of several fire engines. According to showroom owner Pawan Bansal, there has been a loss of Rs 40 to 50 lakh in this fire.
Other traders came running after receiving information about the fire.
As soon as other traders came to know about the horrific fire incident that took place late on Wednesday evening at Shreeji Saree Emporium located in Punjabi Market of the city, they immediately ran from their homes towards the market. There was a gathering of traders in the Punjabi market till late night.
