Makar Sankranti 2024: In the year 2024, Makar Sankranti will be celebrated on 15 January. Because Sun God will enter Capricorn at 2:44 am on 14th January 2024, hence as per Udayatithi, Makar Sankranti will be celebrated on 15th January 2024.

On the day of Makar Sankranti, bathing and donating during the Punya Kaal and Maha Punya Kaal are considered very fruitful. This time the Punya Kaal Muhurta will start on January 15, 2024 at 10.15 AM and will end at 05.40 PM while the Maha Punya Kaal will be at 12.15 PM. It will last from 10 minutes to 6 pm.

One should not do this work even by mistake on Makar Sankranti-

  • On the day of Makar Sankranti, do not eat leftover or stale food or Tamasic food, do not take intoxicants even by mistake. Due to this negative energy dominates.
