Scientists say that the new species of Makhana has been developed. He has many specialties. Makhana used to get scorched when the temperature was high. But this species has the ability to withstand high temperatures. Till now, more seeds had to be planted to get the yield of Makhana. But only 40 percent less seeds will be planted in this species. With this, the production capacity will also increase by 25 percent. Along with this, the new species of Makhana will be rich in protein, vitamins and other nutrients. This species is more resistant than others.
Farmers will be able to use
The good thing is that scientists have successfully tested the new species of Makhana, Super Selection One. In principle, an agreement has also been reached for the use of this species by the farmers. It has also been tested by the farmers in the fields. Now it has been sent to the Indian Agricultural Research Center, Eastern Region, Patna for departmental approval. If everything goes well, farmers will be able to sow this species in their fields as well.
