What was the reason of Malaika’s father’s death?
Anil Mehta allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the balcony of his sixth-floor residence in Bandra’s Ayesha Manor building. According to a News18 report, Anil Mehta’s postmortem was conducted at around 8 pm on Wednesday night. According to the report, an insider revealed that the postmortem report cited ‘multiple injuries’ as the cause of Mehta’s death. More details are awaited.
Before committing suicide, Anil Mehta had called both his daughters
According to an IANS report, shortly before the incident, he had called his daughters Malaika and Amrita and said, ‘I am tired.’
Malaika’s mother Joyce, who was present in the house at that time, told Mumbai Police that she saw her ex-husband’s slippers in the living room and went to the balcony to look for them. When she did not find them there, she leaned on the railing and saw that there was a commotion in the compound, with security guards shouting for help. Joyce also told the police that Anil did not have any major illness except knee pain.
Malaika posted a heart-wrenching post after her father’s death
After the death of her father, Malaika Arora issued an official statement on social media and asked for privacy from the media and well-wishers during this difficult time. Malaika wrote in her post, “We are deeply saddened to announce the death of our dear father, Anil Mehta. He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband and our best friend. Our family is deeply shocked by this loss, and we humbly request privacy from the media and well-wishers. We appreciate your understanding, support and respect.”
Anil Mehta’s last rites will be performed on September 12 at the Hindu crematorium in Santacruz.
