India New Step To Help Maldives: The anti-India attitude of Maldives is not reducing the political tension between the two countries. Despite the controversies arising out of the statements of Maldivian President Mohammed Muizzu, India has shown a big heart and decided to supply essential items to Maldives. This includes things like sugar, wheat, rice and potatoes.
The special thing is that this supply is the biggest supply since 1981, for which Maldives has expressed gratitude to India. On Friday (April 5), the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued a notification in this regard giving this information.
India will send these goods to Maldives
The items that India will export to Maldives include rice 124,218 tonnes, wheat flour 109,162 tonnes, sugar 64,494 tonnes, potatoes 21,513 tonnes, onions 35,749 tonnes, stones and sand 10 lakh tonnes and 42.75 crore eggs.
At the same time, the Indian High Commissioner said in a post on the social media platform that this time the approved quantity of goods to be exported under the bilateral trade agreement signed in 1981 is the highest.

Maldives Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to India
Maldives Foreign Minister Musa Jamir has thanked the Indian government for this generosity. He said in the post on “It is a symbol of the long-standing friendship between our two countries and our strong commitment to further expand bilateral trade and commerce.”

Foreign Minister S Jaishankar also replied
India also gave a friendly reaction to this statement of Maldives Foreign Minister. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that India is strongly committed to its Neighborhood First and SAGAR policies. Security and Growth for All in the Region (SAGAR) is India’s policy or principle of maritime cooperation in the Indian Ocean region.
The decision to supply essential commodities to Maldives has been taken amid the dispute that started between the two countries since November last year. Then, within a few hours of taking oath, President Mohammad Muizzu had demanded India to recall 88 of its military personnel from their country. After this, relations between the two countries deteriorated further when Prime Minister Narendra Modi Posted pictures and videos of Lakshadweep tour on social media, on which three ministers of Maldives made lewd comments.
