Mallika Sherawat Discriminated In Family: Mallika Sherawat has been seen in Rajkumar Rao and Trupti Dimri starrer film ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’ released on October 11. Meanwhile, the actress has made shocking revelations about her family in an interview. Mallika has told how her family was sad at her birth because she was a girl. The actress also talked about her family discriminating against her.
Talking to Hotterfly, Mallika Sherawat said- ‘My parents used to discriminate a lot between me and my brother. During my growing up years, I used to be very sad wondering why my parents discriminated against me so much. I did not understand in childhood, but now I understand. He is a boy, send him abroad, educate him, invest money in him.
The family considered girls a burden
Mallika further said- ‘All the property of the family will go to the son and grandson. What about girls, they will marry, they are a burden. I felt very bad about it, but then I realized that not only me, but all the girls in my village were going through such discrimination and injustice. My parents gave me everything, good education, but not open mentality or good thinking.
‘When I was born, there was mourning in the family’
The actress says- ‘He did not give me freedom. He didn’t nurture me, never tried to understand me. I was secretly playing a lot of sports because my family did not allow me to say, you will become very manly, manly. Who will marry you? There were a lot of restrictions on me. When I was born, there was mourning in my family. I’m sure my mother went into depression, poor thing.
