STF and Hathras Police had an encounter with the kidnappers late night in Civil Lines area in Moradabad. Kidnapper Vishal was shot in the encounter. Police have safely recovered Jio Fiber manager Abhinav Bhardwaj, who was kidnapped from Hathras. Vishal, who was injured in the encounter, is a resident of Rajpura village of Dharanaula police station of Almora district.
It is being told that the kidnappers had come to Moradabad to collect Rs 20 lakh as ransom. Based on information, STF and Hathras police chased the kidnappers and surrounded them in Moradabad. There was an encounter there. In the encounter, kidnapper Vishal was shot and manager Abhinav Bhardwaj was rescued.
The manager of Jio Fiber, resident of Naval Nagar Colony of Kotwali Hathras Gate area, was kidnapped. He last spoke to his family at 7 pm on January 1. The family came to know about the kidnapping when a ransom of Rs 20 lakh was demanded from his wife over phone. The kidnappers had described themselves as being associated with the notorious Tillu Tajpuria gang of Delhi.
