Manipur based actor Bijou Thaangjam accused alia bhatt starrer jigra makers for unprofessional behavior

Jigra Controversy: The troubles of Alia Bhatt’s film ‘Jigra’ seem to be increasing. Earlier, actress Divya Khosla Kumar had accused Alia Bhatt of manipulating the box office numbers. Now an actor has made serious allegations against the makers of ‘Jigra’. The actor has raised questions on the unprofessional behavior of the makers and said that they are wasting their time.

Manipur based actor Bijou Thangjam has written a long post on his Instagram. In this, he has accused the makers of ‘Jigra’ of misbehaving with the actors of North-East. In the post he wrote- ‘I am not writing this with any agenda or allegations. I just want to express the reality of how big production houses often treat actors like me from the North-East.

‘I am here for Divya Khosla Kumar’s sister-in-law…’
Bijou Thangjam further wrote- ‘Hopefully this will shed some light on what we are facing. I am not here to jump into the Jigra controversy over Divya Khosla Kumar’s imitation of Savi, but I have been keeping my experience with the Jigra team a secret for some time and perhaps the time has come to speak out. ,

Accused of not getting the shooting done after casting
The actor writes- ‘In 2023, his casting team contacted me to audition for a role. I sent my tapes twice in four months, along with their timeline. By the end of November, they told me I would be shooting in December – fantastic, right? But they never gave me any shooting date. Yet they booked me for the entire month of December, expecting that I would be ready to shoot for them at any time.

No update given for a month!
Thangjam said- ‘As someone living in Imphal, Manipur, I had made it clear from the beginning that travel arrangements would need to be made, but it did not make any difference. For an entire month, I was left in the dark, talking with the casting team, but getting no updates on when I would be needed. The last message I received was on December 26, in which it was written that I am waiting to come back and after that there was complete silence.

The actor called the makers of Jigra unprofessional
The actor did not stop here, he wrote – ‘Meanwhile, I could not do other projects because I was waiting for him to move forward, but he never got it. I understand how big production houses work. The director is talented, but the way he handled this entire situation was very unprofessional. It almost felt discriminatory for actors from the North East like me. My time was wasted and I missed out on other opportunities just because they expected me to be available at a moment’s notice.
