The effect of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal’s apology is beginning to be seen. On Monday, Akali leader Manjit Singh GK joined SAD along with his entire Jago party. In Delhi, he pledged to work closely with SAD Delhi unit president Paramjit Singh Sarna to strengthen the party as well as resolve all pending issues of the Sikhs. Along with this, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (SGPC) member and former councilor Paramjit Singh Sarna also joined the Akali Dal again.
On Monday, SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal reached Manjeet Singh GK’s residence in Delhi. On this occasion, GK announced that he is rejoining SAD unconditionally along with his entire Jago Party team. He also said that he was deeply touched by the heartfelt apology tendered by the SAD President before Shri Akal Takht.
He said that unity is the need of the hour and is needed to resolve our pending issues. Be it the freedom of captive lions or amendment in Article 25 (section 2B) or the restoration of Gyan Goddi Sahib and Sri Dangmar Sahib. GK criticized the central government for going back on its commitment to release all Sikh prisoners on the occasion of the 550th Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He accused him of adopting double standards by not releasing Balwant Singh Rajoana but releasing the criminals of Bilkis Bano.
