According to a news published in Newstrack, Manjulika of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ was a Bengali dancer in real life. It has its own painful and scary history and this has been adapted into the film. This is a love story which later became a ghost story.
Who was Manjulika?
Manjulika was very beautiful but belonged to a poor family. Once he is kidnapped and brought to Rajasthan. After coming here, she learns Hindi language and here she meets a man named Shashidhar. Manjulika and Shashidhar fall in love with each other. But Manjulika was so beautiful that even the king there falls in love with her.
Manjulika had committed suicide in the king’s prison.
Raja proposes marriage to Manjulika but she rejects him. Manjulika wanted to run away from there with her lover Shashidhar. But when the king got wind of this, he cut off Shashidhar’s head. Even after the death of her lover, Manjulika did not agree to marry the king, after which the king imprisoned her. One day, Manjulika committed suicide while in the king’s prison and left behind a suicide note.
