Manmohan Singh Death: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was severely criticized on social media for not expressing condolences on the demise of former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Manmohan Singh, born in Gah village of Chakwal district of Punjab province of Pakistan, was the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014. He died last Thursday (December 26, 2024) in Delhi at the age of 92.
Condolence messages came from all over the world on his death but neither Shehbaz Sharif nor his elder brother and three-time Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said any words. The irony is that only Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar expressed his condolences. In contrast, Shehbaz Sharif and other officials of the Pakistan government wasted no time in expressing condolences on the demise of former US President Jimmy Carter.

He further said, “I don’t really see much at stake in India-Pakistan relations now, because the Sharifs feel that they have something to lose if they upset Modi. Apart from this, I don’t think Modi will have any problem if he says anything about Singh. It’s all a bit strange!”
And who told the truth and how?
Pakistani author and military affairs expert Ayesha Siddiqa sarcastically said on It’s gone, it’s gone and the matter is over.”
Pakistani journalist Ammara Ahmed said, “This has never happened before. This means that there are no diplomatic relations between Pakistan and India. However, he again discussed the Kartarpur corridor this year. I can’t imagine what was the reason behind this decision. I haven’t even received any press release yet. Very bad and rude.”
