manoj bajpayee movie zoram director devashish makhija troubled by financial crisis says i have no car no office

Devashish Makhija Troubled By Finance: Manoj Bajpayee’s 2023 film ‘Joram’ director Devashish Makhija is facing a lot of financial problems these days. He is a director only in name. He is fighting very difficult times today. He neither has an office nor a two-wheeler nor a car.

Devashish Makhija does not even have his own office. Nor does he have money to pay rent. The Bollywood director recently talked about his circumstances. He said that he does not know whether he will be able to pay his cook next month or not.

I don’t have an office

Recently, Devashish gave an interview to the ‘Long Live Cinema’ YouTube channel. During this, he told that, ‘Even today when I call an actor or anyone else to meet, they ask – where is your office? And I say – I don’t have an office. So you tell me where you are or we will meet in a coffee shop and I will tell you which coffee shop it is, because I cannot afford most of the coffee shops in Versova. I am still in the same place’.

I neither have a car nor a two wheeler

Devashish further told that he neither has a car nor a two wheeler. He said, ‘I am called for meetings in the studio and the executive who calls me tells me where to park my car. I say – I don’t have a car. I don’t even have a two wheeler. So they ask me how I will come and I tell them I will come by auto, or if it is far, then by bus. As soon as I go to those meetings, they think of me as a person who travels by auto and bus, so they talk to me in the same way. This has not changed for me in 20 years and 4 feature films.’

Makhija admitted that the film ‘Zoram’ has ruined him financially. The director further says, ‘I have accepted the fact that this is not going to change for the rest of my life, so should I change then? I don’t know if I will be able to pay my cook next month, all these things are going on in my mind… My insecurities are real and they have grown to such an extent that the consequences will be felt tomorrow, not after two years. I have to keep working, because I don’t know where the next cheque will come from.’
