Manoj Bajpayee Wanted To Play Devdas: Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee is in the news these days for his recently released film ‘Bhaiya Ji’. The actor, who debuted in 1994 with the film ‘Droh Kaal’, is celebrating his 100th film through ‘Bhaiya Ji’. Meanwhile, Manoj Bajpayee has revealed that he had turned down the offer of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film ‘Devdas’ and he still regrets it.
In an interview given to Sushant Sinha, Manoj Bajpayee was asked if he had ever rejected a film that later became a big hit. To this Manoj said- ‘Yes, I was offered Jackie Shroff’s role in the film ‘Devdas’, but I rejected it at that time.’
Manoj regretted rejecting it
Manoj further said that he always wanted to play the character of ‘Devdas’. In such a situation, he had told ‘Devdas’ director Sanjay Leela Bhansali – ‘Sanjay yaar, I always wanted to do ‘Devdas’.’ The ‘Bhaiya Ji’ actor further says that the film became a superhit and he regrets rejecting it.
Manoj wanted to become ‘Devdas’ since his theatre days
Manoj told that he wanted to play the role of ‘Devdas’ since his theatre days. Ever since he saw Dilip Kumar’s film and read the book, he wanted to do this.
