Manu Bhaker won the first gold medal of her shooting career at the age of just 16. After which her parents were overjoyed. Manu won the 10 meter air pistol competition at the 2018 ISSF World Cup in Guadalajara. She won the medal with 242.5 points in the 10 meter air pistol at that time. Since then she has been continuously performing in shooting for India.
father left his job
Manu Bhaker, who hails from Goria, a small village in Jhajjar, Haryana, had won medals in boxing and martial arts before shooting. But her career ended due to an injury. After this, father Ram Kishan handed over a pistol to his daughter. She used to practice shooting for 6 to 7 hours every day after her studies, she had a passion to become the number 1 shooter. Seeing his daughter’s interest in sports, her father left his job.
It had come to a point where my life was at stake
Her mother tells that before shooting, Manu used to do boxing. But once she got an injury on her eye due to which her life was in danger. After which her journey ended. But Manu had a passion for sports which brought her to the threshold of shooting and today she is a capable shooter.

Manu Bhaker has also participated in many other sports before shooting, including Karate, Thang Ta, Tanta, skating, swimming and tennis. She has won medals at the national level in Karate, Thang Ta and Tanta and has been the national champion in Tanta three times in a row. She has also won a state medal in skating. Manu has also played swimming and tennis at the school level.
