Hindus Attacked in Bangladesh: Amid the political crisis in Bangladesh, an interim government has been formed under the leadership of Mohammad Yunus. People of the Hindu community are protesting against the violence against them at many places in the neighboring country. Now protests have started abroad as well. In Toronto, more than a thousand Canadians of Hindu, Christian, Buddhist and Jewish origin protested in solidarity with Bangladeshi Hindus.
Emails sent to Bangladeshi mosques
According to the report of news agency ANI, people raised slogans of ‘We want justice – Bangladesh Bangladesh’ in this protest held in Toronto. The protesters also urged the Canadian government to put pressure on the government of Bangladesh for the safety of Hindus there. According to the report, one of the protesters expressed grief and said that he also sent emails to Bangladeshi mosques in Toronto, but no reply has been received from the mosques yet. He said that whatever is happening in Bangladesh is happening to his brothers.
Muhammad Yunus appeals to the youth of Bangladesh
Hindus make up about 8 percent of Bangladesh’s nearly 170 million population, who have traditionally supported the Awami League party. Bangladesh’s interim government chief Mohammad Yunus condemned the attacks on minority communities in the violence-hit country and called it heinous. He urged the youth to protect all Hindu, Christian and Buddhist families. Regarding Bangladeshi Hindus, he said that they are my brothers, we have fought together and we will stay together.

Members of minority communities in violence-hit Bangladesh have faced at least 205 incidents of attacks in 52 districts since the fall of the Sheikh Hasina-led government on August 5, news agency PTI reported.
