On the afternoon of July 4, a married woman died inside her house under suspicious circumstances in village Manai of Akarabad police station area. Her parents reached the spot and accused her in-laws of dowry murder. When the dead body was lifted, there was an altercation between the people of the married woman’s maternal side and the police. Her parents, accusing them of forcefully lifting the dead body, gheraoed the police station and created a ruckus.
Kitab Singh, a resident of Khadua village of Palimukimpur police station, had married his daughter Bhuri three years ago to Sandeep Kumar, son of Gajendra Singh, a resident of Majra Bhadpura village of Manai in Akarabad police station. The deceased’s family alleges that Bhuri’s in-laws were not satisfied with the dowry given at the wedding. They used to harass her every day.
Meanwhile, Bhuri gave birth to a baby girl who is now five months old. Deceased Bhuri Devi’s uncle Asharfi Lal has said that a few days ago, Bhuri’s husband Sandeep had bought a tractor and paid Rs 50,000 for it. He was asking for more money. On 4th July, his in-laws killed him. They got this information from the neighbours.
About fifty-sixty people including her parents reached Bhuri’s in-laws’ house. Where they found the body lying on a bed in a room. The police reached the spot and collected evidence from the forensic team. Her parents, who were adamant on taking the body when her father came, had an argument with the police. The police took the body to the mortuary.
Angered by this, people reached the police station and surrounded it and created a ruckus. Acting station in-charge Amresh Tyagi says that the deceased woman’s father is working in Punjab. He was talked to over the phone. It was taking time for him to come here, so the body has been kept safely in the mortuary. Action will be taken after receiving the complaint.
