As soon as information about the incident was received, the family members of the deceased reached Rustampur. The deceased’s mother and father have accused her in-laws of murder. The police of Rustampur police station reached the spot after receiving the information and sent the body to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The deceased has been identified as Priyanka Kumari, 25-year-old wife of local Kaushal Kumar.
Here, the family members have accused the in-laws of murder for not giving money and other items as dowry. It was told that Priyanka Kumari, daughter of Bhimrao, resident of Maujipur Ramkripal Tola of Patna district, was married to Kaushal Kumar, resident of Rustampur about 4 years ago.
Police engaged in investigation
After marriage, her in-laws used to harass and beat the girl with other demands including cash, TV etc. The mother and father of the deceased have accused her husband Kaushal Kumar, father-in-law, Krishna Rai, mother-in-law and brother-in-law of dowry murder. Told that on Wednesday evening around 5:30 pm, Priyanka was eating dinner in her house, during this time her husband suddenly came into the house and started abusing and beating her. When he protested, he strangulated her to death with a pickaxe. Everyone in the house is absconding after the incident. Regarding the incident, Rustampur Police Station President Dharmendra Kumar said that information about the incident has been received. The body has been sent to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
