The matter of marriage is so different that now even parents rarely give advice to their children about it. In such a situation, think whether the government of any country has the right to get girls married by luring them with money. Japan, which is in the news due to its technology and moral values, is in the headlines these days due to one such strange scheme.
You may have rarely heard of such an offer. However, in an Asian country, the government launched a scheme to give money to girls if they marry men from the village. According to a report in the South China Morning Post, the Japanese government had introduced such a scheme to promote marriages, due to which it had to face severe opposition from the opposition.
‘Take the money, marry a man from the village’
According to the plan prepared by the Japanese government, girls were being encouraged to take 600,000 yen (3 lakh 52 thousand rupees) and marry a boy from the village. Since in Japan, due to migration from villages, entire areas have become empty in many places. In such a situation, the government offered incentives to those girls who would leave Tokyo and get married in rural areas. For this, girls living in 23 city councils of Tokyo were considered eligible. The government was ready to bear the expenses of the girls’ travel and even their matchmaking event.
The scheme had to be withdrawn
There was a lot of opposition from the opposition and people on social media regarding this scheme. Due to this, the government had to withdraw its scheme. By the way, let us tell you that such schemes are quite common in China. In March, people were offered money for getting married and having children in Guangdong province here. Even girls of 25 years or younger were being offered money for getting married and giving birth to a child. Since the birth rate in Japan is decreasing and the population is getting old, the government wants to promote the population through such schemes.
