The master plan of GDA (Gorakhpur Development Authority) has not yet been approved by the government, but in the meantime many people have bought land and are now making manipulations to get houses built. As soon as the construction work is starting, the junior engineers and employees of GDA are stopping the work.
They argue that the notification has been issued, so it is necessary to pass the map of the building. But, the map is not being created on application. Apart from this, there are many who are giving offerings, they have a free hand for construction work. The evidence of this is the houses being built in the newly marked areas before the master plan is passed. However, there is a fear in everyone’s mind that if a house is built somewhere without the map being passed and the bulldozer moves, then their hard earned money will be lost.
Umashankar Pathak, resident of Deendayal Nagar, Ward number four of PPganj town, was getting his house constructed on the banks of Sonauli Highway in Bhaiyaram near Goliganj in the last month. He was preparing to cast the roof. Only then GDA employees reached. Said that work will not be done without getting the map passed. Umashankar kept waiting for two days. After this, a middleman told him that the work would be done by giving something. Later, when the master plan will be implemented, a map will be made.
When the victim did not listen to him, after a few days, a notice of illegal construction work was received from the GDA. After presenting his case in GDA on March 29, he got his work stopped. Not only Umashankar Pathak, many other people are also troubled. Some people have stopped their construction work while some are waiting for the implementation of the Master Plan 2031.
