Many people like to eat meat. Because it is not only tasty, many nutrients like protein, calcium, iron and zinc are found in it. But one has to make a lot of effort to eat it. Now scientists have created a rice which completely tastes of meat. You can eat it like biryani and you will not need to prepare meat separately. And yes the taste is also amazing. Scientists have named it meaty rice. You will also be stunned to know its qualities.
Scientists from Yonsei University of South Korea have prepared this hybrid rice in the lab. Many types of meat have been mixed in it. Also has the taste of fish. According to researchers, it will look like normal rice, but it contains 8% more protein and 7% more fat than normal meat. The special thing is that it does not spoil for 11 days and it can be easily stored even at normal temperature. This rice provides essential nutrients to the muscles.
there will be no need for farming
Because of this quality, this rice can be used in situations like war or emergency. It can also be given to armies for use. This will prove to be very effective in fighting malnutrition. This can become an economical alternative to protein. Scientists believe that its production method is so easy that it will eliminate the need for rearing and farming many animals. It remains to be seen whether consumers will adopt it if it hits the market.
Carbon emissions are also negligible
According to the report published in Matter Journal, carbon emissions in its production will also be negligible. If we eat beef for 100 grams of protein, 49.89 kg of carbon dioxide will be emitted, while hybrid rice will emit only 6.27 kg. Researchers said that we usually get the necessary proteins from animals, but a lot of resources and water are consumed in preparing the animals. These emit a lot of greenhouse gas. Earlier in 2013, a London scientist had made a unique non-vegetarian burger. Recently it was sold in Singapore, which people liked very much.
