In New Govindpuri of Kankarkheda police station area in Meerut late on Wednesday night, more than a dozen assailants thrashed a shopkeeper for demanding money for cigarettes. On the other hand, the attackers pelted stones fiercely in the colony. Also did aerial firing. The incident was captured in the CCTV installed at a nearby house. The victim has given a complaint against the attackers after reaching the police station. Police registered a case against one of the accused. On the basis of CCTV, the police has started searching for the accused youth.
Neeraj Yadav, a resident of New Govindpuri of Kankarkheda, while giving Tahrir at Tera police station on Wednesday said that he has a dairy shop in New Govindpuri. He has set up a grocery shop near the dairy. On which his son Shrestha Yadav sits. The victim alleges that Ashish, a resident of Kasampur, came to the shop late on Wednesday night with his friend to smoke cigarettes. The shopkeeper had asked the accused youth for cigarette money. After which the accused refused to give the money for cigarettes. There was an argument on both the sides regarding this matter.
After this, the accused made a phone call and called a dozen of his colleagues on the spot. The attackers thrashed the victim shopkeeper fiercely. The accused also pelted stones at the victim’s shop. At the same time, Nitin, the friend of the shopkeeper who came to the rescue, was also attacked by the accused. Nitin’s father is posted as Head Constable in Delhi Police. The victim’s shopkeeper suffered a serious knee injury in the fight.
At the same time, the accused fired in the air to spread panic. The incident has been captured in the CCTV installed at a nearby house. The victim reached the police station and named Ashish and his associates and filed a complaint at the police station. Police registered a case on the basis of Tahrir.
Kankarkheda police station in-charge Uttam Singh Rathore says that a case has been registered. Other accused are being identified on the basis of CCTV footage. The accused will soon be in police custody.

Injured mechanic died in Meerapur Jansath Hospital
