The committee formed to consider the Waqf Amendment Bill is under question, political activity has intensified in Kishanganj district regarding this. Congress MP from Kishanganj and JPC member Dr. Javed Azad has boycotted the tour of Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) to five states on Waqf Bill.
Boycotting such meetings
The Congress MP has not participated in the JPC meeting held in Guwahati. He will also boycott further meetings held in different states like Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Patna and Lucknow for six days. Dr. Javed Azad said that along with him, dozens of members of opposition parties in JPC are also boycotting such meetings.
PM Modi also targeted
Dr. Javed Azad, while targeting PM Modi, said that first of all, PM Modi has formed JPC under pressure. In that too, the work is being done arbitrarily and hastily, the Congress MP said, adding that JPC meetings last for nine hours two days a week. In which four days are spent in commuting and living, due to which the work of the public in the area is being disrupted. He said that during the JPC meetings, they are recording the testimony of many people who have no role in the Waqf issue.
