When you type in the search bar, your chats are shown results as well as questions you can ask Meta AI. Meta AI does not connect to your messages unless you ask it a question. You can continue to use the search feature on WhatsApp and search for messages, photos, videos, links, GIFs, audio, polls and documents in chats just like before by going to the search bar. This does not harm your personal chats.
How to search through Meta AI?
- Tap the search field at the top of your chat list.
- Tap on the suggested prompt or type your own prompt and then press the Send button
- As you type the prompt, you’ll see search suggestions in the ‘Ask Meta AI a question’ section.
- If asked, read and accept the Terms of Service.
- Tap a search suggestion.
