Privacy on Social Media: The company has launched a special open-source software tool to prevent content violating terrorism, child abuse and other rules coming on Meta’s platform. The name of this software tool is HMA i.e. Hasher-Matcher-Actioner. This tool will be helpful in identifying infringing content on the platform and take necessary action against it. The HMA software is built on the lines of the company’s previous open-source image and video matching software.

Gets permission to create own database

Meta also pointed out that the HMA tool allows platforms to build and run their own databases. Along with this, access is also available to operate the hash database. With the help of this tool, it will be very easy for the platform to identify and remove content that violates the rules.

$ 5 billion spent on safety and security

The company itself informed that last year $ 5 billion has been spent on global safety and security and more than 40 thousand people are working on it. The company also disclosed that the company has a team of hundreds of people who are specially engaged in the work of stopping the posts that spread terrorism.

This update was brought in view of privacy

Last month also an update was released to further strengthen the privacy of teenagers. Through this update, new tools were added to Facebook and Instagram, through which the content on the platform can be kept safe.

Apart from this, some new filters have also been installed in features like ‘People You May Know’ and ‘limiting friends’. The company says that with the arrival of this update, the data of young children will be safe on platforms like Instagram and Facebook.
