Preparations are on to serve vegetables in East and West Champaran as well as Shivhar, Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj, Siwan etc. districts. Committees of Tirhut Vegfed Union will supply vegetables to these schools. Mithilesh Mishra, Director of Mid-day Meal Scheme Bihar has issued a letter in this regard to all the District Program Officers and has given instructions.
Green vegetables will come from here
In the letter issued by the directorate, it has been said that under the Bihar State Vegetable Processing and Distribution Scheme, priority should be given to supply vegetables to vegetable producing cooperative societies. Due to this, school children will get quality fresh and green vegetables in the mid-day meal. Tirhut Vegfed President Amit Kumar Shukla said that supply of vegetables to schools will strengthen the union. The business of vegetable producing societies will increase, due to which the society will prosper financially.

Soon, vegetable supply will start in schools of all seven districts of Tirhut Union with vendor registration. Along with this, Tirhut Union is trying to do business at international level. Preparations are underway to send vegetables to neighboring country Nepal as well as other countries.
