Milind Deora Resign: Just before the start of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Maharashtra Congress leader Milind Deora has resigned. He gave this information by writing a post on social media platform X on Sunday (January 14). He joined Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction).
The former Congress leader said in his post, “Today an important chapter of my political journey has ended. I have resigned from the Congress. My family’s 55-year-old relationship with the party has ended. I am breaking the long-standing relationship with the Congress.” I am grateful to all the leaders, colleagues and workers for their support.”
Reason for resentment towards India alliance
Milind Deora’s father Mulari Deora has also been a Congress leader. He had recently got the responsibility of Joint Treasurer, but after a few days he resigned and decided to leave the Congress Party. Political experts say that the reason for Milind Deora leaving Congress is the India alliance.
Lok Sabha Elections Congress will contest elections in alliance with India Alliance and Shiv Sena of Uddhav Thackeray faction is not ready to leave the South Mumbai seat. In such a situation, if Congress does not get the South Mumbai seat, then Milind Deora will have to look for some other seat. At present, Arvind Sawant of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) is the MP from South Mumbai.
What will be the impact of Milind Deora’s departure on Congress?
With Milind Deora leaving Congress, the question is arising whether his move can affect the party. At present, Congress is discussing the seat-sharing plan with other parties included in the India Alliance. Congress is facing difficulties in achieving much from parties like Aam Aadmi Party and Trinamool Congress. In such a situation, Milind’s separation from the party can weaken the position of Congress in seat sharing with Shiv Sena (UBT) in Maharashtra.
Apart from this, the party is trying to avoid embarrassing situations like Sachin Pilot’s rebellion in Rajasthan. In such a situation, after Milind’s separation from the party, Congress would not want a situation like Rajasthan to arise in Maharashtra. Milind Deora has been playing an important role in shaping the strategy of Congress in the state.
His departure will not only weaken the position of Congress here, but also Eknath Shinde The Shiv Sena faction led by Shiv Sena will be strengthened and the Shinde faction will get an experienced politician. Not only this, Congress has lost a leader in Milind who, according to his electoral track record, could have been a potential MP in 2024.
