Gopal Rai, Environment Minister in Delhi Government, wrote a letter to the Union Environment Minister before calling a meeting of all stakeholders to approve cloud seeding in Delhi in view of the worsening pollution situation. Even before this, Minister Gopal Rai has written a letter to the Union Environment Minister. He has called for an emergency meeting of various departments and sought permission to reduce pollution through artificial rain after Diwali. If approval is not given within a week, then this time also the experiment of reducing pollution through artificial rain will not be possible.
Let us tell you that the level of pollution in Delhi-NCR was very bad on Wednesday. Before Diwali, Delhi is moving towards becoming a gas chamber. The amount of dust particles and poisonous gases in the air has also increased. The air quality in the capital has reached ‘very poor’ level. According to Safar India, AQI has reached 349. Local people of Delhi said that there is so much pollution before Diwali. People are worried and the government should take some measures.
Gopal Rai said that government departments, private agencies, construction sites and resident welfare associations have been directed to provide electric heaters to the security staff as required, so that they do not burn biomass in the open during winter. For this, the Revenue Department and DPCC have been ordered to issue necessary instructions. The minister said that he has written a letter to the governments of the states adjacent to Delhi requesting that as long as the pollution level in Delhi remains high, they should send only CNG and electric buses in place of their diesel buses.
