Mobile number closed many years ago, you can get that number back, know the trai rules

Mobile Number Rules: In today’s time, if someone wants to talk to someone, then they call each other immediately. Now almost everyone uses a phone and everyone has their own mobile number. Many telecom companies in India provide mobile numbers.

To use a mobile number, it needs to be recharged. But if you do not use your mobile number for a long time, it gets disconnected. In such a situation, a question arises in people’s mind whether a mobile number that was disconnected years ago can be retrieved. Let’s know the answer to this.

After 3 months the number gets allotted to someone else

If your mobile number remains switched off for more than 3 months continuously, then you may lose your number. According to the rules of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), if a number remains switched off for more than three months continuously, then that number is allotted to someone else.

That is, if it has been more than a year since your number was blocked, then understand that you cannot get your number back because by then it would have been allotted to someone else. That is, someone else would be using that number.

Use it occasionally

If you want your number to remain with you, then you have to ensure that it does not remain switched off for a long time. Whether you recharge it or not, but it should continue to receive incoming and outgoing calls at intervals of a few weeks. Non-active numbers are also switched off by TRAI. Then it is recycled again and brought into the market for people to use.

How to activate a blocked number?

If the mobile number is not used for 90 consecutive days, it is deactivated. Even after that, some telecom companies give you a grace period of 7 days while some companies give you a grace period of 15 days. That is, during that time you can get it activated again by submitting documents. For this, you have to submit your Aadhaar card and also get your fingerprint scanned by going to your telecom company.
