1. First of all, take flour in a vessel. Add 2 tablespoons of ghee to it and mix well. Add water little by little and knead a hard dough. Keep it covered for some time.
2. Then put the milk mawa in a pan and fry it on low flame till it becomes light brown. Then add sugar, grated coconut and cardamom powder to it. Mix it well and turn off the gas. Then let the mawa mixture cool down.
3. Make small balls from the maida dough and roll them thinly with the help of your palm. Put the mawa filling in the middle of each cylindrical dough. Close the dough from all sides and apply light pressure on the top so that the shape of modak is formed.
4. Prepare a steamer and heat water in it. Place the modaks in the steamer and steam them on low flame for 10-12 minutes. After steaming, let the modaks cool slightly.
