Modi Government 100 Days: Prime Minister Narendra Modi The first 100 days of the third term of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government will be completed on Tuesday (17 September). During this period, the government has taken many big and decisive steps and is also planning to implement its big agenda in the coming days. This includes the plan to implement one country one election soon.
To mark this milestone, detailed guidelines for the Centre’s ambitious internship scheme are likely to be issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. At the same time, BJP will start ‘Seva Pakhwada’ across the country on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17. According to the party spokesperson, the Seva Pakhwada will run from September 17 to October 2. Under this, ‘Seva Paramo Dharma’ will be realized by celebrating Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s birth anniversary on September 25 and Gandhi Jayanti on October 2.
Modi government prepared a plan for the future
News18 quoted sources in its report that going forward ‘One Nation One Election’ will be implemented during the tenure of this government. The report of the Ramnath Kovind Committee is already with the Center. The Center can also start the census process soon. However, no decision has been taken in this regard yet, discussions are going on. Apart from this, the Center will also take steps to restore the state status of Jammu and Kashmir in the shortest possible time after the elections.
What major decisions were taken in 100 days?
In the first 100 days of the Modi government, infrastructure projects worth Rs 3 lakh crore have been approved, with inauguration dates set for each of them. This includes the Vadhavan port in Maharashtra at a cost of Rs 76,200 crore, the next phase of the PM Gram Sadak Yojana to connect 25,000 unconnected villages at a cost of Rs 49,000 crore, roads and high-speed road corridors at a cost of Rs 50,600 crore, new railway lines, development of three new airports and three metro projects in Bengaluru, Pune and Thane.
Sources said such a high spending on infrastructure will boost job creation, and the Rs 2 lakh crore PM package will benefit 4.1 crore youth. The country now also has one crore ‘lakhpati didis’ who are earning Rs 1 lakh annually; certificates were distributed to 11 lakh of them in the last 100 days.
Other major moves include approval of three crore more houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, integrated pension scheme, income tax benefits to the middle class in the budget and installation of solar power in 2.5 lakh homes.
Farmer friendly Modi government?
Apart from infrastructure, the government has also focused on agriculture and during this period it has taken several measures including increasing the minimum support price (MSP) for kharif crops, removing minimum export price (MEP) on onion and basmati rice and increasing import duty on crude palm, soybean and sunflower oils.
The total payment under PM Kisan Nidhi has reached Rs 3 lakh crore so far, while an additional Rs 2 lakh crore benefit has been provided to farmers through increase in MSP during this government’s tenure, leading to a new record of 120% procurement under MSP, up from about 33% during the UPA regime.
Sources said that the opposition only sees the PM Kisan Nidhi through the lens of politics, whereas it is a scheme to empower farmers, not a freebie. Another big decision is to extend the benefits of Ayushman Bharat to all people aged 70 years and above.
The process of changing the law
One of the biggest decisions in the first 100 days was the enactment of three new criminal laws by the Union Home Ministry, which could soon make India have the most modern criminal justice system by reducing investigation and judicial delays.
To remove the policies of appeasement in the country and for better administration and protection of Waqf properties, the Waqf Amendment Bill was also introduced in the Parliament, which is currently with the JPC.
