PM Modi Congratulated Muhammad Yunus: After the coup in Bangladesh, Mohammad Yunus has taken over the reins of the country. He took oath as the head of the interim government today on Thursday (August 8). The new head of Bangladesh will be the Prime Minister. Narendra Modi has also congratulated. Along with this, he has also talked about the safety of Hindus and minorities.

PM Modi said, “My best wishes to Professor Mohammad Yunus on assuming his new responsibility. We hope that normalcy will be restored soon, ensuring the safety of Hindus and all other minority communities. India is committed to working with Bangladesh to meet the shared aspirations of the people of both countries for peace, security and development.”

After the uproar in Bangladesh, Mohammad Yunus got the command

Yunus, 84, was appointed to lead the interim government. He was recommended for the role by the protesting students. Returning to Dhaka from Paris, Yunus addressed the media at the airport. He became emotional and said, “The country has the potential to become a very beautiful nation. We will move forward with whatever path our students show us.”

Sheikh Hasina was overthrown

This change has happened in Bangladesh at a time when there is political turmoil there. Recently, Sheikh Hasina had to resign and she also had to leave the country. Hasina’s government was toppled after widespread protests. Mainly student movements opposing the controversial reservation led to a lot of chaos in the country and there were vandalism, arson and Hindus were also targeted.
