Union Budget 2025: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the General Budget 2025-26 on Saturday (February 1, 2025). While Bhutanβs name is at the top of this list, Bangladesh will be given only 120 crore rupees in the name of help. In this budget, India has not increased the amount given to Bangladesh in the name of help.
From the budget 2025-26, India has given a big blow to the interim government of Mohammad Yunus in neighboring Bangladesh. Earlier, India had allocated Rs 120 crore to Bangladesh. This time also this amount has been retained. Its simple message is that India has been instructed to give Bangladesh to neighboring religion.
Bhutan gets the biggest help
In the budget 2025-26, India is going to do the biggest help to Bhutan. India has allocated Rs 2,150 crore for Bhutan, compared to Rs 2,068 crore last year. At the same time, India has increased from Rs 400 crore to 600 crores for Maldives. Mohammad is also trying to improve relations with Delhi after his China support of Muzuzzu.
Recaked Afghanistan amount
India was given a assistance amount of Rs 200 crore to Afghanistan last year, while it has been reduced to Rs 100 crore in the budget 2025-26. Two years ago this amount was 207 crores. At the same time, more amount has been allocated for the neighboring country Myanmar than last year. In the year 2024-25, this amount was 250 crores, which has been reduced to Rs 350 crore this time. This help for Nepal remains at Rs 700 crore. The allocation for Sri Lanka has been increased from Rs 245 crore to Rs 300 crore.
Allocated less money for foreign help compared to last year
The government has allocated Rs 20,516 crore to the Ministry of External Affairs. In this, less money has been allocated than last year for foreign help. There is a provision of Rs 5483 crore to help other countries, while in 2024 last year this amount was Rs 5,806 crore.
