After a few days of relief rain, people are again suffering from humidity and heat. According to the Meteorological Department, similar weather is expected to continue till Saturday. According to Atul Kumar Singh, senior meteorologist of the Regional Meteorological Center, due to the monsoon trough being slightly south of its normal position, there has been a partial decrease in the distribution and intensity of rainfall in the state.
Now a low pressure area is forming in the Bay of Bengal, which will affect the state after the next 24 hours. There is a possibility of increase in the regional distribution and intensity of rainfall in the state from August 18.
On Friday, there was sporadic rainfall in some parts of the state, but due to humidity and sunshine, the day temperature remained above normal. The day temperature was recorded to be 4.5 degrees Celsius higher.
The maximum temperature in Varanasi was 37.4 degrees. The night temperature was also 4.4 degrees Celsius higher than normal. The minimum temperature in Lakhimpur Kheri was recorded at 30 degrees Celsius, which was the highest in the state. Lucknow was also extremely humid. Humidity was recorded at 94 percent.
