Shahedin, who was caught on charges of cow slaughter near Mandi Committee outpost in Majhola police station area of Moradabad, died during treatment after being beaten by people. After this incident, tension has spread in the area. Late on Sunday night, some people were trying to slaughter cows by taking stray cattle into the dark in the Mandi Committee premises.

People who arrived on information surrounded the accused. During this time, three accused managed to escape, while the accused named Shahedin was caught and beaten severely by the people. Shahedin, who was seriously injured due to the beating, was admitted to the district hospital by the police, where he died during treatment.
SP City Kumar Ranvijay Singh said that a case was registered against Shahedin and his associates on the charges of cow slaughter. Tension increased in the area after the information about the death. The police immediately sent the body for post-mortem and deployed heavy police force in the area.
The search for the absconding accused is going on. Police have appealed to the local people to maintain peace and not pay heed to any rumours. Investigation into the matter is ongoing, and tight security arrangements have been made in the area.
