Moradabad Municipal Corporation administration took possession of the house allotted near Lipton Club in the name of late Humayun Qadeer, the first SP mayor of Moradabad, after getting it vacated. Humayun Qadeer has passed away. Currently, no member of his family was living in the house.
On receiving the information, his daughter Anam and son-in-law Usman also reached the spot. The corporation team made a list of the items present in the house and handed over the items to them. In the first election of the mayor held in 1995 after the formation of the Municipal Corporation, Humayun Qadir of the Samajwadi Party was elected mayor.
During that time, a building was allotted to him for residential facility near Lipton Club. According to corporation officials, Humayun Qadir did not vacate the building even after his mayoral term was over. This matter came to the notice of Municipal Commissioner Divyanshu Patel during the review of corporation property.
After which he instructed Additional Municipal Commissioner Atul Kumar to get it vacated by following the legal procedure. Additional Municipal Commissioner said that for this, notice was sent twice to the concerned address. But due to the lock being closed there continuously, the notice was pasted on the building.
After the notice period ended, the team of the Municipal Corporation reached the residence on Thursday afternoon along with Inspector Awadh Bihari of Civil Lines Police Station. They broke the lock of the building and started preparing the list of the items kept in the building. Meanwhile, Humayun Qadir’s daughter Anam and son-in-law Usman, younger brother Rizwan Qadir reached the spot.
All three said that Humayun Qadir’s wife Firdous Jahan has gone to America to get treatment for her son, so any action should be taken after her return, but the corporation team did not agree.
After making a list of all the items in the building, it was handed over to his daughter and son-in-law and after getting the building vacated, the corporation team took possession.
The building is worth about Rs 6 crore
Additional Municipal Commissioner Atul Kumar said that the building which was illegally occupied by the family of former Mayor late Humayun Qadeer and which has been vacated is built in an area of 661 square meters. Its current market value is about six crore rupees.
My father Humayun Qadir passed away in 2021. My mother is undergoing treatment with my brother in America. We did not receive any notice to vacate the house. The notice that I saw pasted at home today also showed my mother’s death. Whereas my mother is alive. We wanted to hand over the possession ourselves after my mother returned. In 1995, the first mayor of the city, Humayun Qadir, was allotted a house for the duration of his tenure. Later, he occupied it.
