Dr. Shekhar Dogra, resident of Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, beat his wife and threw her out of the house after not getting Rs 1.5 crore in dowry. The victim was also tortured by her in-laws. When she reached her parents’ home and narrated her ordeal to her family members, they were shocked.
After this, a case has been registered against the doctor and his family members at Majhola police station. Nidhi Kushwaha, resident of Chak Faizullapur Chauhanon Wali Milak of Majhola police station area, told in the complaint that on 25 February 2019, she was married to Dr. Shekhar Dogra, resident of Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh.
The victim told that the marriage took place in a hotel in Delhi. In which his father had spent more than Rs 40 lakh. When the victim reached her in-laws’ house after the marriage, her husband and other in-laws were unhappy with the dowry received in the marriage. After a few days, the husband and in-laws started pressurizing the married woman to bring back Rs 1.5 crore from her parents’ house.
The victim told that when she gave birth to a daughter, the behavior of her in-laws became worse. On the birth of her daughter, the victim’s parents gave her a gift of Rs 2.50 lakh, but despite this, her husband and in-laws got angry.
He taunted the married woman that he expected more pleasure from this. After this, her in-laws repeatedly started pressurizing the married woman to bring Rs 1.5 crore from her parents’ house, only then she would be allowed to live in her in-laws’ house.
Finally, on September 14, the husband and in-laws beat the married woman and threw her out of the house along with her daughter. CO Civil Lines Arpit Kapoor said that on the basis of the complaint, a case has been registered against husband Dr. Shekhar Dogra, mother-in-law Neelam, father-in-law Surendra, sister-in-law Vandana Singh and brother-in-law Rahul Singh.
