A woman living in Mughalpura police station area has accused her brother-in-law of breaking into her room and molesting her and her husband of marrying her for the second time. Based on the complaint of the victim, the police have registered a case against six people including her husband and brother-in-law. The victim woman told that she was married to a young man resident of Amroha three years ago.
The woman says that her husband, brother-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law and sister-in-law were unhappy with the dowry received at the wedding. After marriage, she was asked to bring dowry to her in-laws house. Her husband and in-laws put pressure on her to bring a car and twenty lakh rupees from their respective parents’ houses only then would she be allowed to live in the house.
One day the woman was alone in the room. Husband had gone out. At around 1 o’clock in the night, the brother-in-law entered the room and molested the woman. When the woman protested against this, the brother-in-law threatened her and said that his brother will get her divorced.
The next day the woman complained to her husband and mother-in-law. It is alleged that the husband also scolded the woman and started saying that she was defaming his brother. After this, the accused husband made the woman sit in the bus from Amroha to Moradabad and said that only when she brings the car and twenty lakh rupees from her parents’ home, she will be allowed to stay in the house.
Now the woman came to know that her husband had married another girl. Mughalpura police station in-charge Manoj Kumar said that a case has been registered on the basis of the complaint. Whatever facts will emerge in the investigation. Further action will be taken on the same basis.
