Upendra Kushwaha on Rumors of Joining BJP: Janata Dal (United) (JDU) Parliamentary Board chief Upendra Kushwaha on Sunday (January 22) put an end to the growing discontent towards the party, but has not yet opened the cards regarding his strategy. Kushwaha is admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the national capital for some tests and some leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) met him here. Kushwaha made it clear that he was “more than 100 per cent” sure that he would “never become a member” of the BJP.
However, he expressed his displeasure and said, “Even after almost two years of the merger of Rashtriya Lok Samata Party, it seems that people are not convinced that I am completely with JDU.”
‘Instead of talking to me directly, Nitish Kumar…’
The former Union minister quit the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. “I don’t see any other reason why Chief Minister Nitish Kumar spoke about me to the media instead of talking to me directly,” he said. Kushwaha said when speculation was rife that he was planning to quit the party. He felt as if “my postmortem is being done alive”.

Earlier on Saturday (January 21), Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had said that he would talk to his important political ally Kushwaha. When CM Nitish Kumar was asked about the speculation about Kushwaha leaving the party, he jokingly said, “Just tell Upendra Kushwaha to talk to us.”
JDU leader Nitish Kumar was answering the questions of journalists regarding Kushwaha in Gaya district. During his ‘Samadhan Yatra’ in Gaya, Nitish Kumar said, “Everyone has the right to choose his own path. Kushwaha has separated not once but many times and then came back. He said, “His health is not good at the moment. let them come back. I will talk to him.
