Angered by his mother’s scolding, an eight-year-old boy jumped into a canal in Ayodhya, UP. His mother also jumped in to save him. Meanwhile, police and divers saved the mother, but the son went missing. His search is on.

The matter is of Bhitaura village of Raunahi police station area. Ruchi Gupta, wife of village resident Subhash Gupta, scolded her son Gaurav (8) over some issue. Angered by this, he angrily went near the Sharda tributary canal and jumped.
Seeing him jumping, Ruchi also jumped into the canal to save him. Seeing both of them jumping into the canal together, the nearby villagers also informed the police. Raunahi police station incharge Pankaj Singh reached the spot with divers and started the rescue.
After much effort, the mother was saved by divers, but the child was nowhere to be found. Police station in-charge Pankaj Singh said that Ruchi was sent to the district hospital in critical condition, where she is undergoing treatment. The search is on for the child.
