In Motihari, the police had arrested three smugglers with fake notes, one of whom, Najre Saddam, was a software engineer by profession. The accused had planned to use the fake notes during the elections in Jammu and Kashmir, but they were caught by the police before that.
SP Kantesh Kumar Mishra told reporters that on September 5, Motihari police arrested three smugglers with fake notes. Three hundred fake notes in the form of five hundred rupee notes were recovered from them. He said that one lakh 95 thousand fake notes have been recovered from the smugglers. Many important revelations have been made from the smugglers who have been caught. On their information, a criminal named Sarfaraz has also been arrested in Anantnag, Kashmir and he is also being interrogated there. Police is trying to reach their kingpin by interrogating the accused.
It is noteworthy that yesterday three people including Najre Saddam were caught with about 1.5 lakh fake currency notes from Nepal border. All the three smugglers are from Bhagalpur, Bhojpur and Patna. Among them Najre Saddam is also a software engineer. It is being told that Najre Saddam has earlier supplied fake currency notes to Kashmir from the border via Delhi in March and June. At that time also the police was after him. But he was successful all three times. But the fourth time his sins broke.
SP told that the connection of this fake note is near Dhore village of Nepal. Here two real brothers used to supply fake notes to them. Both of them used to cross the border and they used to get the consignment of fake notes near Bhelahi. From there they used to carry forward their work on motorcycle and then go to Kashmir by other means. They have contact with a big smuggler of Kashmir and the transaction of notes used to happen through him.
According to agency sources, money was taken from Santosh Sahni of Dhore village in Nepal and delivered to Sarfaraz of Anantnag in Kashmir. Sarfaraz used that money for extremist activities. Meanwhile, there are assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and due to this, this type of activity has increased a lot there. Out of the three youths caught, Zakir alias Mumtaz has stayed in hotels in Raxaul and Chhatauni in Motihari for several days several times. Now the intelligence agency has started closely investigating the activities of Zakir alias Mumtaz during his stay in Motihari.
