Students of engineering college in Motihari, Bihar, angry over being put back in the semester, have come out to protest. In this connection, even today on Friday, students were protesting by locking the gate of their college. Then the college administration informed about this to the SDO, after which Magistrate Sadar CO Sandhya Kumari and Mofussil Police Station Head Manish Kumar reached the college with their team. Where the students were protesting by locking the main gate. The police explained to them to open the gate, but the students were not ready to accept a single thing and clashed with the police. After this the police took four students into custody.
Students say that we have been pushed back in the semester, it should be taken back. Only then will we withdraw our protest. After that the administration broke the lock of the gate and entered the college. During this time the students started trying to stop the administration. On this the police entered the college using mild force. After that the students sat at the college gate and started raising slogans against the police and the college administration. At the same time, the Principal explained to the students that their demand has been accepted by the University. Then the students said that they would withdraw their protest only after the release of their four comrades detained by the police.
Out of three hundred students, 70 got year back.
Engineering College Principal Abhay Kumar said that three hundred students from all the faculties of the college had appeared in the examination. Out of those, 70 students were affected. Students were protesting regarding this for two days. Meanwhile, the main gate was locked on Friday, due to which movement into the college was stopped. After that the police was informed.
The Principal told that even after several warnings to the students, the gate was not opened so the police broke the lock and entered. But the students started protesting. On this the police used force on the students, after which they calmed down. At the same time, the students are demanding to call those people who were detained by the police. They are also being brought.
Special examination will be held on the demand of students
The Principal said that the special examination will be taken again for the students who have fallen behind in the semester. Its date has been determined. The date will be announced. At the same time, when Magistrate Sandhya Kumari was asked about the lathi charge on the protesting students, she walked away without answering.
