A case of cheating a model girl from Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh by promising to get her a role in films and modeling has come to the fore. The accused youth and woman have been arrested by the Bhopal Crime Branch from Delhi. In the preliminary inquiry, it has been found that the accused young men and women have cheated many people of more than 50 lakhs on the pretext of getting them roles in modeling and films, serials. The girl from Bhopal was also given a similar trap.
According to ADCP Shailendra Singh Chauhan, a girl living in Piplani area does modelling. She told the police that she keeps sharing dance videos on the internet. On 17 December 2022, a person’s call was received from Delhi’s Dream Maker Company. He said that you have been selected for the video dance of the company. For this, you will have to deposit a registration fee of Rs 15,000. The girl transferred 15 thousand rupees online. After this, the fraudster offered to shoot dance in the famous Balaji Company of Mumbai. He said that 17 thousand 500 rupees will be received per day for the shooting. The shooting will go on for ten days. To participate in this shooting, you have to get an artist card made.
Money was transferred from father’s account
The girl had deposited about 71 thousand 600 rupees under the guise of fraudsters. After this, another person called and said that you have to deposit one lakh five thousand more rupees, otherwise the more than 71 thousand rupees deposited so far will not be returned. The fraudsters started pressurizing him by repeatedly calling from different numbers for money. Then the girl and her family came to know about the fraud. After this, a complaint was made in Cyber Cell and Crime Branch.
Bunty-Babli are the directors of the company
Bhopal Crime Branch has arrested Waqar Alam and Alka Badonia from Delhi’s Madhuvihar Colony. Both are directors of Dream Makers Company. Both have carried out the incident of cheating by calling from their respective mobile numbers. Police have seized mobiles and other electronics equipment of both.
Used to target like this
The accused said that by posting videos of celebrities on Facebook, Instagram pages, they contact people through WhatsApp to get photo shoots done with them and work in films. They contact such people, who have been uploading their own videos and photos on social media. Interested in modeling or dancing. The accused used to transfer money online to their bank account by telling different packages of registration fees and photo and video shoots from the duped persons.
Avoid doing this as advised by the police
In view of the increasing incidents of cheating, the police has again issued an advisory, saying that cyber thugs are cheating by collecting huge amount in installments in the name of providing work in film shootings. Always keep these things in mind to avoid getting cheated. Check the veracity of the advertisement given on social media. Do not download any app from any unknown website. Never share your OTP/CVV/Password/PIN with anyone. Don’t get lured by tempting offers made online or over the phone. Do not click on any online link.
