At present, from Madhya Pradesh to Delhi, there is an uproar over the joining of senior Indian National Congress leader Kamal Nath and his son Nakul Nath in BJP. Meanwhile, Congress leader Sajjan Singh Verma has given his reaction after meeting former Chief Minister Kamal Nath in Delhi on Sunday.
‘Kamal Nath’s focus is on the strength of Congress’
He said that I had a discussion with him (Kamal Nath). He said that right now his focus is on how the caste equation will be in 29 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh. Congress will be strengthened by giving ticket to whom. At the same time, he said that he has not thought of anything like that (about leaving the party).
‘I didn’t tell anyone where I was going’
Sajjan Singh Verma said that Kamal Nath said in the discussion that right now I do not have any such idea with anyone nor have I discussed it with anyone. I (Sajjan Verma) said that the media people are saying that you (Kamal Nath) did not even deny. He (Kamal Nath) said that this is a question created by the media people and they should answer only that. Till date I have not told any media where I am going or where I am not going.
‘Unless someone says it himself, how can we accept it?’
The media asked, but the speculations that were going on for last one and a quarter month are now over? Congress should assume that it will not join BJP now. Congress leader Sajjan Singh Verma said that unless the person in whose context the issue is raised does not say a word from his own mouth, how can anyone, be it the media or the general public, believe it.
‘I was, am and will remain a Congressman’
Meanwhile, on speculations about former Chief Minister Kamal Nath joining BJP, Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari said that I have just spoken to Kamal Nath ji. He said that these things which are coming in Jeetu media are illusions. I was, am and will always be a Congressman… In democracy, there is victory and defeat.
Patwari further said that in every situation he (Kamal Nath) has lived his life firmly with the ideas of Congress and will continue to live with the ideas of Congress till his last breath. This is his own feeling which he told me.
