PBKS vs MI: Mumbai Indians have defeated Punjab Kings by 9 runs in a thrilling match. Mumbai had scored 192 runs while batting first. Suryakumar Yadav’s powerful fifty helped MI reach a big score. While chasing the target, Punjab team had a very shameful start because Jasprit Bumrah and Gerald Coetzee bowled lethally in their spell and reduced Punjab’s score to 4 wickets for just 14 runs. In the absence of Shikhar Dhawan, the top order of the team had collapsed badly. Purple cap holder Jasprit Bumrah broke the back of Punjab’s batting by taking 3 wickets in the match. Ashutosh Sharma scored the most runs for Punjab. Ashutosh had scored 61 runs in 28 balls, which included 2 fours and 7 sixes but could not lead the team to victory.
In the last 6 overs, Punjab Kings needed 65 runs to win, but only 3 wickets were in hand. But at the other end was Ashutosh Sharma, who was batting in a stormy style. When Akash Madhwal came to bowl the 16th over of the innings, he gave away 24 runs in the over. From here the match started looking one-sided because now Punjab needed only 28 runs in 24 balls. The match was stuck after Ashutosh’s wicket fell in the 18th over. Punjab needed 23 runs in the last 2 overs. When Harpreet Brar was out after scoring 21 runs in 20 balls, almost all the hopes of Punjab’s victory were gone. As soon as Rabada was run out, Punjab team was all out for 183 runs. Mumbai has won this match by 9 runs.
